World Lacrosse to hold 2027 Sixes Championships in Colorado Springs
Inaugural tournament to serve as primary qualifier for the LA28 Olympics
The 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships, which will qualify five of the six spots in the field for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The announcement was made this morning by World Lacrosse and the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation. The event will take place October 4-10, 2027, at Weidner Field, the home of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
“Few places in the world embody the Olympic spirit like Colorado Springs,” said World Lacrosse CEO Jim Scherr. “As we prepare for lacrosse’s return to the Olympic Games in 2028, it is only fitting that the first-ever sixes championships and our primary Olympic qualifier will take place in Olympic City USA.”
